Exciting Events

Well, firstly, I got a NEW CAMERA!!! Hooray! It's a Samsung with a a viewing screen on both the front and back...fancy, I know. Though my webcam was doing a fair job, I'm glad that I will no longer have blurry, grainy web cam photos that need meticulous editing.  Ta-da:
Dress//ModCloth   Scarf//Zumies   Broach//Antique   Shoes//Vintage   Ring//Vintage

Ok, so it's not quite professional quality, but it's still better than what I had! I can now use a tripod and take photos with a timer longer than three seconds, which will in the end save me twisted ankles and frustration. I'm very pleased ^_^

Also, I am blogger of the week at White After Labor Day. Head on over to check out my feature and be sure to explore the blog a little...She has some exciting giveaways going on right now.

And I would like to announce the grand opening of The Quirky Poet vintage clothing store on Etsy.com. Since thrifting and vintage clothes hunting is not a luxury everyone has, I thought I'd share my finds. I hope you'll all take a peek at the pretty things I have listed.

Bonne Journée!

And the World's Like a Science, and I'm Like a Secret

The arts tend to feed off of one another: music inspires writing, writing inspires fashion, fashion inspires photography, etc. So you're likely to see many more of these clothing-song pairings. And I hope you'll feel inspired too.

"Lingering Still"
She & Him

I like to learn things slow
I like learning alot
I like to get it all again and in the end
You know you get what you got
I like to mean what I say
But it don't always come through
'Cause if I say it all again, again, again,
It doesn't make it all true

And the world's like science
And I'm like a secret
And I saw you lingering still, still
I saw you lingering still

It's all just news to me
Don't really care if it hurts
'Cause if I knock it I won't know it
Then I know that it will only get worse
He was different at first
But then he won't understand
Because he's never gonna know me
If he doesn't want to just shake my hand

And the world's like science
And I'm like a secret
And I saw you lingering still, still
I saw you lingering still

And the world's like science
And I'm like a secret
And I saw you lingering still, still
I saw you lingering still

Sapphire

Lately, all I feel like wearing is this blouse, which I thrifted from the Salvation Army. It's vibrant and odd and makes me feel pretty. So why would I ever need to wear another shirt?

And there'll be sun, sun, sun...

When I think of what it might be like to wear sunshine, I think of this skirt, which sort of matches this song.

"5 Years Time"
Noah and the Whale

Oh well in five years time we could be walking round a zoo
With the sun shining down over me and you
And there’ll be love in the bodies of the elephants too
And I’ll put my hands over your eyes, but you’ll peep through

And there’ll be sun sun sun
All over our bodies
And sun sun sun
All down our necks
And sun sun sun
All over our faces
And sun sun sun

So what the heck

Cos I’ll be laughing at all your silly little jokes
And we’ll be laughing about how we used to smoke
All those stupid little cigarettes
And drink stupid wine
Cos it’s what we needed to have a good time

And it was fun fun fun
When we were drinking
It was fun fun fun
When we were drunk
And it was fun fun fun
When we were laughing
It was fun fun fun
Oh it was fun

Oh well I look
at you and say
It’s the happiest that I’ve ever been
And I’ll say I no longer feel I have to be James Dean
And she’ll say
Yah well I feel all pretty happy too
And I’m always pretty happy when I’m just kicking back with you

And it’ll be
Love love love
All through our bodies
And love
love love
All through our minds
And it be love love love
All over her face
And love love love
All over mine

Although maybe all these moments are just in my head
I’ll be thinking ‘bout them as I’m lying in bed
And all that I believe might never really come true
But in my mind I’m havin’ a pretty good time with you

Oh

Five years time
I might not know you
Five years time
We might not speak
Oh
In five years time
We might not get along
In five years time
You might just prove me wrong

Oh there’ll be love love love
Wherever you go
There’ll be love love love
Wherever you go
There’ll be love love love
Wherever you go
There’ll be love love love
Wherever you go
There’ll be love love love
Wherever you go
There’ll be love love love
Wherever you go
There’ll be love love love

Wherever you go there’ll be love

Feeling Monochromatic

I was recently accepted into the Independent Fashion Bloggers community, and I received quite the warm welcome. I'm just amazed by what kindness fashion bloggers demonstrate toward one another. It's incredible. I didn't quite expect to find friends this quickly.
Visiting the blogs of other fashionistas makes me feel like we're all in this charming little neighborhood together, and I'm just crossing the street to chat and have a cup of tea with a friend...while wearing hats and gloves, of course.

Anywho...here's my outfit post for the day...I was in the mood for monochromatic...
