Green and Red

As a personal rule, I avoid green and red combinations during the holidays so as not to appear grotesquely cheesy. I thought I had succeeded this year, but after looking at these photos of my anti-Christmas outfits, I realized that I had subconsciously worked in variations of the classic Christmas colors. Alas, I am not a Scrooge afterall.

This first outfit felt like such a success to me. I paired not two, not three, but four different patterns without looking like a Christmas clown. I think that right there makes for some fashion history.

And I wore this outfit on Christmas Eve...

This dress is so flippy. I always feel like dancing in it. Appropriate for a holiday party, I'd say. And look at that pretty scarf! One of my lovely Christmas gifts this year. Perfect color, isn't it?

  1. Both these outfits are SO lovely. I always try to avoid red and green color combinations too...unless their socks. I can't pass those up, haha.

    Wonderful scarf :)

  2. I also avoid green and red usually, but not this year. I wore a green dress on Christmas Eve.

    Happy New Year!

  3. I love your Christmas Eve outfit. It totally looks flippy, twirly, and fun!

  4. You will forever go down in the fashion history books as the pattern mixing queen :)

  5. Don't knock cheeziness! Haha, you look awesome -- I dig the gold scarf.

  6. Very cute outfits, I really like the white lace skirt :)

  7. I love, love that ivory lace skirt - and your curly hair - it is so pretty with all your outfits!

  8. I also try to come up with a unique holiday styling approach :) and you look absolutely gorgeous in these outfits! The blue and silver looks festive, and the scarf is so cheery happy!
    Good luck!

  9. Lovely christmas outfits, i like the lacy white skirt with the cute giraff print top, really feminine and cute! The floral dress with red cardi also looks so sweet and charming. I think with your fabulous style you would still look great with red and green combo. Happy 2012!

  13. This outfit is so perfect and I think it's because of the shade of that cardigan with your scarf. So wonderful.

I do my best to respond to all comments, but I'm pretty scatterbrained. So if I skip over you, it's most surely unintentional.
Thank you for your sweet words!
